Homeland Security bulletin

This past weekend American B-2 stealth bombers hit three Iranian nuclear facilities in an effort to halt the efforts by Supreme Leader Khamenei to attain nuclear-weapon capability. There are very few people in the world who believe a nuclear weapon in the hands of Khamenei and his followers would have been a good thing.

By the next day our Department of Homeland Security alerted US citizens with the advisory bulletin above. While the heightened domestic concern isn’t a surprise, it’s not a source of comfort either. Still, none of the occurrences of the last few days were surprises to God, and that should be our source of comfort.

Deuteronomy 31:6 says "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Moses spoke those words to the Israelites before they crossed the River Jordan to enter and populate the Promised Land. They knew the task would be dangerous and difficult, and they needed to constantly reflect on God’s will and protection.

Whatever unfolds over the coming days, we can do the same. God goes with us each and every day. He will never leave nor forsake us. All of the days ordained for each of us were written in His book before a single one came to be. I hope you find peace in that.
